“In dreams I am awake with you…” Day 19 of the song-a-day-May NZ Music Month madness comes from Wellington duo Athuzela Brown, and their sleepily haunted dream-folk in the form of “Shade” from their December 2013 EP “A Cliff At Dawn”.

Anyone familiar with Tiny Ruins will find something just as gentle, slow, melodic and darkly haunted in this duo’s music. They bring the added appeal of two strong and very different voices and use them well together on this EP.

I don’t know anything about Athuzela Brown other than the brief information on their bandcamp page and a website called Sonorous Circle: “Athuzela Brown is: Haz & Charlotte Forrester. Currently based in Wellington, NZ”
